Weekend get-away

For our anniversary, J and I decided to get away and leave the Noodle for the first time...overnight.  Everyone packed up their bags and went their separate ways Saturday afternoon:  The Noodle to Grandma and Grandpa's and the 2 of us to a B and B, far enough away, but close enough.

The B and B is located in a small college town and has a quaint downtown area.  Perfect to stroll around, wander in and out of shops, gaze at all of the beautiful, stately old homes and reminiscence about our  memories of college.  Ahhhh!
The dancing fairies were hidden in our room!
We lingered over tea/coffee and a tea biscuit at a Hungarian pastry shop, ate a delicious meal at a restaurant that features local, in-season menu items (steak for J and mushroom and asparagus ravioli for me) and of course, thoroughly enjoyed our decadent breakfast the next morning.  Both the conversation as well as the calories were plentiful!
The beautiful window seat on the landing.
Ready for dinner.
We had such a lovely time being together, laughing and talking non-stop, but by early afternoon we were ready to see the Noodle.  We had missed her!!  She of course had been busy, busy, busy with the grandparents and had hardly missed us at all.  Ha ha!!  Overall, a very successful overnight trip...for all involved!
