12 month post-placement and doctor update
Today we have our 12 month post-placement visit with our social worker. After this visit, all the requirements regarding the adoption will be finished. Yeah! Thankfully our social worker is great and it is really more of a "catch-up" visit than anything else.
I had also talked, a few months back, about how the Noodle had developed a fistula after her surgery. We went back and saw the surgon at the beginning of September and I'm thrilled to report that it seems that things have healed (at least mostly). We hadn't seen anymore liquid escaping and so took that as a good sign, but when he looked in her mouth, he said he felt that things had pretty much healed over. What an answer to prayer! While he's not convinced that the hole is completely closed, it hasn't grown any bigger and if it is not impacting eating/drinking or speech, then we'll just keep an eye on it. We go back to the cleft clinic in December, for a 6 month follow-up and then annually after that, just to monitor. Just wanted to update...a few people had asked.

Awww, Leila has that same doll. (She won't play with it, but I think it's beautiful.)
Yaay, on finally finishing all the paperwork!
